This is the New Balance 574 Core Tall Men Shoe Review. I am 6’7 (201cm), and I wear a size 14 men’s US (47 EU) 574.

The New Balance 574 Core is a classic shoe in many styles and fashions. However, this is one of the leading shoes, with New Balance haters saying it looks like their dad’s shoe.

The overall fit of the 574 is different than many of the other styles I have worn from New Balance. I find the shoe to run small in the balls of my feet, and I have less room in the toe box. Due to this, I don’t find the shoe to be comfortable for long periods of walking or general wearing. Because of this, you may want to buy a size up from your normal.

On long walks, I have sometimes found the ends of my toes to be sore from hitting against the front and top of the shoe box. This is more noticeable after owning the shoe for 6-12 months and wearing down the general structure of the shoe.

So, as a daily wear shoe, even though the look of it fits the bill, I am not fond of the overall comfort it gives.

But, as a stylish shoe that works with many different clothing looks, the 574 is a great shoe to own and wear with specific looks for daily events.

How to take care of your New Balance 574 Core Shoes

Cleaning your New Balance 574 Core needs to happen in a two-focus process. For daily upkeep and general wear, take a warm wet towel to your shoe and rub the exterior and sole. This should be sufficient to keep general dirt and minor scuffs from appearing.

For deeper cleans you can put your 574 in the washing machine, however it will wear on the fabric of the outer shoe. I would only do this if you have moved the shoes to a secondary footwear. For deeper cleans that don’t ruin your shoe I would take the shoe to the dry cleaners.

Also, make sure you wash your shoelaces often, to keep them looking fresh.
